Night Guards: Protecting Your Smile While You Sleep
Do you wake up with jaw pain, headaches, or sensitive teeth? You might be grinding or clenching your teeth at night-often without even realizing it. At Southwest Family Dentistry, we offer custom-made night guards that help protect your teeth while you sleep and relieve the pressure on your jaw.
Unlike over-the-counter options, our night guards are custom-fitted to your bite for maximum comfort and effectiveness. They create a gentle barrier between your upper and lower teeth, preventing wear and tear caused by grinding (also called bruxism) and reducing the risk of cracked teeth, worn enamel, and TMJ discomfort. They’re especially helpful if stress or alignment issues are contributing to nighttime clenching.
Many of our patients are surprised by how much better they feel after using a night guard- improved sleep, less jaw tension, and fewer morning headaches. If you suspect you might be grinding your teeth, or your dentist has noticed signs of wear, let’s talk about whether a custom night guard could be the solution for you.
