The entire visit typically takes about 2–3 hours total, broken up into three main parts:

1. Preparing the Tooth (60–90 minutes)

We start by gently numbing the area so you’re completely comfortable throughout the procedure. Then, Dr. Sotoodeh will carefully remove any decay or damaged portions of the tooth and shape it for your new crown. Once the tooth is clean and ready, we take a digital scan — no goopy impressions required! This precise 3D image allows us to design your crown with incredible accuracy.

2. Your Design Break (about 90 minutes)

Here’s the best part — it’s time for a break! While you take a little time to relax, run errands, or even head home to get some work done, we’ll be busy designing your custom crown.

Using the latest AI-driven design technology and Dr. Sotoodeh’s expertise, we fine-tune every detail for the perfect fit, bite, and shape. Once the design is finalized, it’s sent to our in-house milling machine, which carves your crown from a solid ceramic block (typically E-max or zirconia). After milling, the crown is fired for strength, then polished and glazed until it looks just like your natural tooth.

3. Delivery and Placement (30–60 minutes)

When you return, we’ll try in your new crown to ensure it fits perfectly and feels great when you bite down. We’ll make any final adjustments, check that you’re happy with the shape and shade, then clean and cement the crown in place. That’s it — your tooth is restored and ready to go!
