How Much Does an Emergency Dentist Visit Cost Without Insurance?

Written/reviewed by Arezoo Sotoodeh, DMD

When you’re in pain and don’t have dental insurance, the cost of getting help can feel almost as stressful as the toothache. Many people put off care because they’re worried about a surprise bill, and then the problem gets bigger and more expensive. Here’s what to expect at Southwest Family Dentistry in Littleton.

Our $48 Emergency Visit

For emergency patients, we currently offer a $48 emergency special. It includes:

  • A limited exam with the doctor.
  • Any diagnostic X-rays and tests needed to find the problem.

You’ll leave knowing exactly what’s wrong and what your options are.

What Does Treatment Cost?

The cost of treatment depends on what’s needed. Common emergency treatments include:

  • A filling for a cavity or small break
  • A root canal to save an infected tooth
  • A tooth extraction
  • A crown for a cracked or broken tooth, often made the same day with CEREC

Before we start any treatment, we’ll explain your options and give you a cost estimate so you can decide what’s right for you. There are no surprise charges.

Ways to Make Care More Affordable

  • In-house VIP membership plan: for patients without insurance, our membership plan covers routine preventive care and offers savings on treatment.
  • Flexible financing: we offer financing through Cherry, which lets you split treatment into monthly payments.
  • PPO insurance: we’re in network with most major PPO plans and handle the billing for you.

Why Waiting Costs More

Dental problems almost never stay the same. A cavity that could be fixed with a filling today may need a root canal in a few months. A cracked tooth that could get a crown now might need an extraction and an implant later. Getting seen early is almost always the less expensive option.
